It's funny how attitudes change over the years,
Please forgive me if this is the wrong forum, or if it should be in The Lounge, but I think it is a thought worth mentioning.
It seems back in the 40's 50's and 60's bare bone business coupe were the choice of the traveling sales person. Air, tilt, cruise, automatic, power windows & locks V8 and even a radio seem to be taboo.
Just think, the constant manuel shifting in stop and go traffic, the hot interiors in the summer with the windows down even when it was raining. Arrive at your destination hot and sweaty.
I am in sales to the auto companies and oem manufacturers,I cover about 40 to 45k miles a year, and cannot imagine a car without the creature comforts, as I mentioned above.
After a long day it's great to relax and listen to xm radio, adjust the temperature, and seat back, put it in drive and head to my next call or home. With optional sport suspension, wheels and engine, you can merge in and out of traffic, handle corners and generally makes me feel good about driving.
Just to clarify, I am not just talking about a high end car like Cadillac, or Lincoln but loading up a Malibu, Fusion or even a Focus or Cobalt, these options make a difference, at least to me.
Again just my thought.
