PICS (1:24) Your Daily Dose of Diorama.....
All dioramas and photographs are the amazing visions and fine work of Michael Paul Smith

“Open late (one from the vault).....

The big news is that I signed a contract with a publisher and if all goes well a book will be out in the Spring of 2011. From my Heart, I want to thank everyone for making this possible. There is no complete way to express my gratitude for all the support, encouragement, comments and love that everyone has given me. Thank you, thank you and thank you again.”

“November Snow, Series 2....

Looking out your window, on a cold snowy night.”

“Light from the Alley...”

“November Snow, 1954....

“A lot of baking soda was shaken over the set, then lit with one 60 watt bulb, that was just out of the frame. The glare from the bulb gave the appearance of falling snow being diffused by a street light.”

“Hudson in the Snow....”

“November Snow, Series 3....

The "snow" is baking soda that has been sifted and blown over the model. The only light source is a 60 watt bulb. I took the roofs off the buildings and suspended the light over the model, which illuminated the interiors.”

“Last Wash....”

And thanx fur lookin’!
