I have this car, and here is an interesting story about it. My wife had seen the car at a
gift shop back in 1997, and came home and asked me if I had it. Of course I did not, so I called Franklin Mint to try and purchase it.

They told me that there was no such car! I told them that my wife had seen it, and it was a FM car, and they continued to say there was no such car.

So I drove up to the gift store and bought the car...then called FM again and told them that I had it, and IT WAS AN FM CAR. They still claimed it was NOT a car that they produced.

Now here is the deal about the "gift shop" car. The FM store that used to be in the Mall of America (in Bloomington, MN) told me that from time to time, FM would produce limited edition cars for gift shops.

Why the FM folks would not admit or reveal that when they were asked about it, remains a mystery. One would think they'd want to direct customers to the store (if they didn't have it) to generate sales.

It doesn't surprise me that FM fell apart. They were always clueless.
