Autographed diecast ?

I collect little cars strictly for fun , some bring back
fond memories , some just look cool :). I've noticed
some race models for sale , signed by the driver , builder (Carroll Shelby ) , for instance , etc.
What's the concensus ? Does having an autographed car add
to your enjoyment , or does having someone scribble on the
car with a magic marker detract from the diecast ?
I'm on the fence about this.

I do have a New 1/18th T-Bird that was signed by Bill Ford Jr across the trunk (EOM) by Mark Millar #42641.2
That is probably worth something as Bill Ford did not sign everything in sight. I don't want the by David Hosea #42641.2.1
I'm not an autograph seeker but my youngest brother is. He only wants them by Steve Jacobs #42641.2.1.1
