Marlowe, Are you thinking about running for some
political office somewhere?? What's all the politically correct nonsense and terminology being used here regarding a photo posted of a very poorly executed attempt at customization?
Your choice of words is very interesting:
dignified?
respectful of the creativity of others?
critical?
having courtesy
and last, but not least, bringing children into the conversation
You talk about showing restraint? to those that have made comments about this car. It's really NOT your place to chastise anyone or try to make them feel thay did anything WRONG because they voiced an opinion regarding someone's poor attept at customizing!
You talk about potential members like it had anything to do with the guy who did this work.
It's a photo of "some car", "somewhere" at "some time", so who says the owner of this "creation" wants to be a member of D4C, or even knows what D4C is, or cares??
In your previous post you stated that" It bothers me greatly that we denigrate someone's pride and joy"
How do you know it's someones pride and joy? is the question that comes to mind.
As far as anyone being critical of his work........If no one tells him the truth, how will he improve on his next project? (He DOES need improvement)
If it bothers you "greatly" simply skip over the post and read something else.
The problem nowadays is that EVERYTHING is TOO politically correct. Members here are, for the most part, old enough to decide what they like and what they don't, and it's THEIR right to express an opinion about it and NOT worry about the POLITICALLY CORRECT POLICE telling them what to say and when to say it.
You'll have some members here agree with you and your critical comments about those who have posted comments on this subject and that's fine.........you can all gather together and be kissy kissy and do your "group hug" thing, if that's what makes you happy, BUT, it's really not your place to shove politically correctness down anyone's throat, no matter how politically correct you do it !
