My first car was a Chevy Wagon just like this one, without the hideous wheels, of course.
It was the first car my father had ever bought new, and was my mother's car during my teen years. I drove it so much that eventually my mother bought a new car and handed the tired old wagon down to me. Theoretically I had to share it with my sister. Since I knew how to tweak the carburetor to keep it running smoothly, something I never told my sister, she became fed up with it and bought a Chevette. The Chevy was mine. I drove it for a few years and then fell victim to the shady transmission mechanic and the old "metal shavings in the transmission fluid" scam. I junked the Chevy and bought a Pinto. A week later the transmission shop was exposed by the "Eye-Team" on the local news. I cried.I miss that Chevy to this day; and feel guilty because I know that, if I had been a bit smarter about cars and transmissions, I could have gotten a lot more life out of that beautiful beast. Also If I had saved the Chevy I never would have owned any of the cars I have owned since!!!!I still remember the day we fit 38 high school kids in the Chevy, but that is a story for a different thread....
