PICS (1:1) ATHS Nationals, Part 8...."Big Mack Attack, Part 1".....
As you might expect, the products of the Mack Corporation were the must numerous at this show. This fine little '29 "AB" Model belonging to Dana Morse of Gardner, MA greeted me at the main entrance.... J.P Noonan runs a very large fleet of tankers all over the northeast. Their modern trucks are invariably immaculate so it comes as no surprise that their vintage stuff is, too. Here's their 1926 "AB".... ...an "E" model from the '40's.... ...and a B-61 from the 1950's.... Skip McKean knows his alphabet, too. From left to right :"EH", "LF", "B" and......Superliner?!?!? Roy Moxley brought his cute '39 "ED" pickup all the way up from Street, MD. Roy has been a fixture on the scene for many years... Here's Bernard Sheehy's '47 "EE" complete with tilt bed. It's from over in Lawrence, MA.... Reed Devitt's 1945 "E" fire truck shows an almost total lack of chrome typical of trucks built during the war years, as that precious commodity was vital to munitions production. Devitt is from Fort Edward, NY.... A lovely restoration on a 1949 "EF" owned by Wayne Devoe from Newport, VT, way up near the border with Canada.... There's more to this A-50 than meets the eye. It's actually an "A" model cab on a later "B" chassis with the later engine. It's a real hot rod Mack.... Model "A" 's a pair, one a rustfree original.... ...and another one very nicely done over. It was for sale for only $7,500.... “Crosley, Breakfast of Champions”.... Tune in next time for Part 2, “The Heavyweights” and, as always, thanx fur lookin’!
