Message: Questions on the heavyweights At what point did these big Mack's, and I presume others, finally move away from chain drive? I have always been curious to know the advantages of chain drive on these big guys. From my little kidhood in NYC right after WWII, I remember the big solid rubber tired electrics that were still around the city, usually delivering newsprint. Any of those still around? Hey, I was only 4 or 5 so I may not be accurate but I did know my cars then.
