Pic: I'm not a fan of the 1:1 either but...
I frequently buy a model for it's fidelity and craftsmanship. I have a number of Classic replicas from the 30's but I actually have little interest in classic cars. One of my great motivators, though, is accuracy in miniature, leading me to buy models that exhibit a higher degree of workmanship and detail. For me, Automodello's Phantom Corsair was a promise of good things to come. I've been acquiring their 1/43 models as well. I've yet to be disappointed. B&G Models Bugatti Atlantic was a similar decision. The Zone's Delahaye was another. I guess we all have our own motivators, "Different strokes..."
