The OBITUARY NOTICE arrived today....
"Dear Classic Car Preview Society Member,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your participation in the Classic Car Preview Society. Through the years, the Danbury Mint has proudly offered discriminating die-cast car collectors the chance to be the first to own what many deem to be the best 1:24 scale automobile replicas in the world.

Regrettably, I must announce the end of this popular program. We are no longer able to cost effectively produce enough new models to continue the Preview Society. We will however, continue to periodically release die-cast models that bear the hallmark of quality for which the Danbury Mint is known.

Thank you for being a part of the great Danbury Mint die-cast legacy and for your ongoing patronage.

Art McKenna
Die-cast Product Manager"

Geez, they sure didn't rush into letting us know of the passing of this once great legacy, did they? It's only been two years! And I wonder what DM's definition of "periodically release" is.

But at least now it's official and the taps can be played.

We've all lost a great part of ourselves with this official announcement, as collecting Danbury Mint replica's has been a big part of my life's fun since 1989.

Thank you Danbury Mint for the enjoyment. R.I.P.
