I should be more clear. There is nothing wrong with the site, per se, it's what the calculations
are based on that I question. There are many CPI adjusters. The one the the government uses to calculate the increase in SS payments to seniors is the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W).

I'm wondering if the basket of goods in this formula needs updating. When the cost of SS insurance exceeds the increase there is something wrong.

We got an average increase in SS of $29.92. However, Medicare insurance went up $25.00, leaving us with $4.92 to foolishly spend on food and housing.
