...people today, statistcally, care very little about automobiles. They desire gadgets, electronics and anything with "high speed." (excluding cars lol)

Cup holders, WIFI, navigation, echo-boost, touch-screens and plug-ins are what truly attract today's young car buyers. Therefore minimal interest in 1:1 cars translates into zero interest in "toy" cars.

Thus, to answer your question, "Are companies doing enough...?" It's really a moot point.

It's hard to sell things that people don't want.
