Frank, you have fettled your DBR1 brilliantly.
One of the many details that was incorrect with the Shelby model was the interpretation of the tonneau cover. It is correctly positioned at the rear of the cockpit, but the leading edge was tethered to the top edge of the windscreen. Take a look at Michael Turner’s web site - www.studio88.co.uk; he has painted a very good image of Salvadori driving the car at Le Mans in 1959 with the correct positioning of the tonneau cover..
Your detailing of the front wheel arches and the spats on the rear arches looked spot on, before the body landed on the garage floor. I hope that the damage has now been undone. I’m looking forward with great anticipation to seeing your correct version. I know it will be stunning.
Why did Shelby give approval to such a naf model?
