Model Car Directory
Before the internet, I put out six Model Car Directories, from 1973 to 1992. The last one is very out of date. No mention of the internet, most dealers are out of business, most museums are closed, etc. It has lists of the following: Auctioneers (14 US, 15 UK), Books (4 Annual, about 230 general), Manufactures Catalogs (Chart of about 400, all years, kits and built), Clubs (Int’l 2, Special 12, US 80, UK 14, RoW 6), Codes (for charts 70), Contests (12), Conventions (just some history), Dealers (150 US, 17 other, plus 135 from UK five Pound book), , Dictionary (29 words and subjects), Individuals (about 900), Magazines (33), Manufacturers (about 1000, I did not list all the companies from 1890 on and not all the kit companies. I stopped getting Four Small Wheels after Sept 1983 because they stopped selling diecast), Museums (25), Scale Chart (about 40 scales), Shows (and Promoters, 50 US, 150 Row), and Videotapes (4, CD’s came later).
It is amazing how much the world has changed in 16 years. Now Dana Johnson has a website that has more up-to-date info but little history. But MCD-92 has a lot of history. It is great reading. (60 pages, 2 pictures, no color)
Is there any other website that has this info up to date and with history?
