For histories of obsolete toy cars from minor British companies and Tootiestoy try this link:

Then there are British magazines that have articles on histories: Model Auto Review, Model Collector and Diecast Collector.
I have a run of the first 18 issues of the Italian model magazine 'Miniature & Collectors. This one is published in Italian and English.
And don't forget Randall Olson's ..... in Miniature books!
So there are still people out there that care in providing information. This is not even touching the surface!
