I joined the 1/43 collectors 3 or 4 years ago with land speed cars ( thanks for your help, Ari). Since then, I have focused on French coachwork from the 1930's and1940's. The operative word here is focused. You will find so many more choices and a huge price range, that it can easily overwhelm the collector. I love Bugattis, and have a few, but I resisted the temptation to collect Bugattis as well. I would be broke by now due to the number of choices. Btw, I still buy a rare 1/18 and very special 1/24, but the focus is 1/43.
