I owned two
Dodge Intrepids - basically the same platform as the LHS. Blew the head gasket on both of them - two different size engines. When I went to pay for the second diagnosis I mentioned to the customer service lady that this was probably going to be it for Chrysler, even as much as I was a Mopar guy, since they seemed to have a problem with head gaskets. She said - don't worry, she just came over from a Ford dealership and she couldn't count how many blown head gaskets had come through the repair shop. And it was the same for the other companies. Seems to be a common problem now that they all use aluminum heads. You blow a gasket or have a water pump go, the aluminum heads overheat and immediately warp and that's the end of that. So, being as how I have an extremely soft spot for Chrysler, I thought I'd give them one more chance and bought a new 08 Chrysler 300. I LOVE it!!! So far it has been absolutely trouble free in every way. But I did buy the lifetime warranty. lol
