John has given some good advice. There is also the matter of construction
material. Today the two most often used in fine 1:43 cars are resin (a form of plastic) and white metal (sometimes confused with lead but a mixture of metals). The resin allows very fine detail and the white metal has weight and gives a sense of value. Lower ranges often use die cast metal and/or plastic. Also consider the price range. 1:43 models range from just a few dollars to several hundred.Whew! It's a wide area to consider. The great thing about Forum 43 is that the collectors here buy in all of these variations and some others that I haven't even mentioned. Welcome! And enjoy!
