The Mustang II never appealed to me but not only was it a sales success
when new, it became one of the biggest parts cars ever. There are more Mustang II front ends under cars today than there were when the cars were new. Looking back, they were perfect cars for the times. I'm old enough to remember sitting in line hoping to be able to buy gas and the insurance companies were going crazy raising premiums on anything that looked like a performance car.
