Interesting model, Harvey. Historic? Just being at the Bantam meet, as posted below, I wonder
about the term "historic." First, the term is neutral; both George Washington and Al Capone are historic Americans. If you were labeling the Honda electric as a "curiousity," I would agree with you quickly. But to this old history teacher, the term "historic" means something with impact that causes it be be of importance to later generations. The Ford Model T is historic, meaning it had a large impact on the culture of its own time and has a continuing impact upon automobile production into the modern era. The Bantam, while gas-saving and cute as a June bug on a string, was a curiousity of the late 30's and still is. A favorite of mine, the Kaiser Darrin sports car was the first fiberglass automobile body put into assembly line production, but its impact on American cars fades beside the original (and continuing) Corvette. So if we're trying to look into the future and see what the hybrid-purchasing car buyers of fifty or a hundred years from now will consider historic, the Honda Insight, in my opinion, would be more of a Kaiser Darrin, while the Prius might be in the Corvette position. Or maybe it's just late at night and I'm rambling. The Insight is a fine looking 1:43 anyhow. Congratulations on your find. And be thankful that it's too late for me to start taking pictures of my Model T Fords, Corvettes, Kaiser Darrins, and Bantams. Sorry, I have neither Honda Insights or Toyota Priuses... yet.
