[PICS] Some Premium X at last (for better or worse)
It looks as though some production log-jam has been cleared, or some missing freight containers have finally crept their away across the China Sea to Europe, but Model Car World are now showing some more Premium X models. The '71 Buick Riviera "boat-tail" comes as standard in light metallic green with beige roof or in dark red
MCW seems to have arranged to their own "exclusives" with Premium X the same as they do with Neo. Their Riviera is gold with what looks like a very dark brown roof

It's OK, but from the pre-production photos I didn't think it would lok much better on a display shelf than the cheap Yat-Ming 1:43, and from these photos I haven't really changed my mind. It seems to sit a littlehigh at the front, and detail doesn't seem all that much better than the Yat Ming, but I could be wrong.1954 Pontiac Chieftan. Standard version is 2-tone blue
and the MCW exclusive is described as pale beige over yellow
2009 Dodge Challenger in civilian version
and police version
And finally a Chevrolet Opala (Brazilian-built, Opel-based) in orange with black stripes
or metallic grey with ditto
There were also some others listed but I think they have either been around for a little while or issued as cheaper basic Ixos and I haven't really paid attention to themFord Mustang (also done in black) - seems a bit too flat in the front to my eye?
a Ford F-100 (also done in plain white without the load bed cover)
and a Ford Bronco II (also available in NYPD and New Jersey Fire Department liveries, and I think Ixo have also done a basic version for the James Bond partwork series)
MCW sells all these at around 30 Euros, which is exactly half the price of their current Neos but I think I'd probably rather have one Neo than 2 of these - although I expect to get their civilian and police Pacers when/if they finally emerge. As usual, apologies if some of this stuff is old news to you sharp-eyed chaps out there.PS Judging by the number of comments about the Mustang II, I think you are all just going to have to swallow your pride and buy this model for its sheer historical significance. If you don't, how can you ever hold your head high and claim your collection of American cars is truly representative?
