IT IS WITH GREAT SADNESS AND PROFOUND GRIEF THAT I ANNOUNCE THE DEATH OF SHEILA KELLY…
Sheila Kelly, Hostess of the Diecast Zone’s Lounge page, friend to many here, died early this morning at her home in Alexandria, Virginia, following a courageous nine-month battle with pancreatic cancer.

Sheila was 57 years old, and recently marked her one year retirement from a distinguished 30-year federal civil service career with the Environmental Protection Agency which concluded as the EPA Liaison Officer to the Homeland Security Agency.

Sheila will be remembered as a loyal friend, voracious reader, friend to animals, defender of the environment, dedicated precision diecast collector, political activist, avid angler, proud Virginian, Ohio State Buckeyes football fan, frequent visitor to North Carolina’s Outer Banks and Pennsylvania’s Appalachian woodlands, creative grill chef, gracious hostess, and generous to a fault.

Her loss will be severely felt by her family, her many friends, the special people in her life, and perhaps most of all by her beloved black lab Strider.
