Here is something that I think needs to be shared and forwarded.
I don't believe I have ever posted here, but here is something that touched my soul.

I'm not trying to take anything away from our soldiers who are now sacrificing to keep the world safe. I acknowledge their hardships and respect them for what they have to endure on a daily basis. They are risking and offering their lives for us.

However, now that Memorial Day is past and Veteran's Day is approaching, I thought it might serve a purpose to show a perspective that should have been - but never was.

The first time I came home on leave from the Army I proudly wore my uniform. I was not only shocked, but confused at the common reaction I received. I have since discovered that I wasn't the only one. Probably every serviceman who served during the unpopular Viet Nam War was looked upon with disgust. It was not only confusing, but aggravating, and seriously infuriating to every soldier. Yet, there were few deserters.

Today's soldier receives the respect that is due. And while I do respect all of the personnel who serve, I have to admit that deep inside of me, my heart is torn and I feel jealousy, if not anger when I see and hear about the attention that is paid to them.

This might be hard for many of you to understand. So . . . maybe this video clip will explain it.

Hope you watch it.
