That's the painful reality. Those jobs are never coming back.
America needs to get used to one of two truths. America will either have to be willing to work for global competitive wages or retrain the labor workforce with a skill that requires more than unskilled manual labor. The days of not having an education and expecting a middle class income are over!

Everyone wants to blame Obama or Bush or Clinton or Reagan but that is just a useless exercise. Sure, they have a minor influence on some jobs by providing incentives to manufacture in the USA but that's about the extent of it. They cannot create a massive influx of jobs. That may occur if an emerging technology takes hold but even then, it will be just a matter of time before industry ships those jobs to cheaper labor countries too. Everyone wants to blame someone! The cold reality is that US industry was chased out of the US by the US consumer. It was just an evolution.

The jobs problem all started in the mid-sixties when we started buying Sony transister radios. Most of you remember that we all had RCA or Admiral transister radios. But Sony's and Panasonics were better. That was the beginning of a chain reaction of the US consumer buying more and more foreign goods. Next was TV's, then cars. Fast forward to today and America has a fraction of the manufacturing it had 50 years ago. Look around you, virtually nothing within your eyesite is made in the US. It used to be, but no more.

There was no way we could foresee the result of our purchasing actions then. Today, US manufacturers have either gone out of business or have moved their facilities to foreign countries that have cheaper labor. Those jobs are not going to return because the American worker is spoiled (no fault of his own) and does not want to work for global competitive wages.
