AutoArt 1:18 1985 Porsche 944 Turbo Re-release
Some purists think all Porsche's should be rear engine 911's. Porsche themselves, begs to differ and Rich explains why.

Overview
This little turbocharged intercooled pocket rocket of the late 80s was an evolution of their front engined RWD platform that began with the 924. It offered great handling due to its near 50/50 weight distribution as the result of employing a rear transaxle.
AUTOart has got another winner with this replica. I like the continued search for excellence this company shows. AUTOart was always a master of using plastics to simulate a multitude of components with the use of delicate textures and paint detailing. The giveaway on close inspection was always mold flash and slight mold misalignments. Hand chasing all these casting flaws would be prohibitively expensive but careful design can hide the flash and ejector pin marks and high quality molds can eliminate misalignments. AUTOart is leading the way providing such design and execution. It really pays off in replicating interior and engine components that look as good on magnification as they do on casual inspection
Another feature I always marvel at is Aa's replication of modern lighting groups and the complexity of the lens reflective design. Note the front view picture below that I harshly lit to feature the delicate lens design. These are jewel-like marvels.
This model overall exudes quality at a midrange pricepoint. I highly recommend it.
