Wow! The Vanquish, finally in my garage. Only the 1:18 version, but still, what a fantastic car! It's a great model, but perhaps not as great as some want you to believe. It doesn't hold the comparison to the AA DB5. 2. Darren Taylor 10/20/02
It's about time that 007 returned to the car manufacturer that made him truly famous. The quality is comparable to AUTOart but almost half the price, well in this case less since AUTOart models from films cost more than twice the Beanstalk models - so what if it has no carpet. The weapons and tight-fitting panels are why the Vanquish model vanquishes every other model in terms of value for money. The suspension is cleverly done (false suspension springs with real springs almost hidden above) and not oversprung (as you'd see on a Maisto). A must for any collector, Aston Martin or James Bond fan! 3. Jonathan Yeo 11/5/02
Wow, great replica of a great car. The weapons and gadgets are perfect with the ejection seat just amazing. The interior looks good with little details like "vis vanquish" on the bottom of the door runners. Everything fits seamlessly together even the drop down grill at the front that hides those rockets and shot guns. The only negative is the paint job and finish which isn't as nice as AA models but that is just maybe due to the paint colour. For the price I paid for this I am very happy to have this in my collection, if only the AA Astin Martin Db5 with all the gadgets were as cheap as this!!! One can only wish. 4. Robert Kees 11/22/02
007's new ride pays homage to the gadget laden DB5 from Goldfinger. The overall lines of the car are so aggressive and pleasing, that the surprisingly large model can't help but be pleasurable to look at from every angle. The silver paint on Beanstalks Vanquish does not quite compare to the AA DB5's flawless finish, but none the less is very good. It's gadgets include rockets hidden in a retractable front grill, an ejection seat, and two machine guns that pop up from under the hood. The car has a removable roof panel that is unfortunately plastic, but it fits so well that when its in position you cant tell its removable. The interior also is well done and far more detailed then one would expect of model of such modest cost. Both the engine and engine compartment are well done. In closing, the Beanstalk groups Vanquish is a worthy companion to my DB5 and comes tantalizingly close to the quality of it's more celebrated competitors but at a much lower price point. This car arrived to day. I was suprised. Never heard of beanstalk before. Thus car is extremly well done. When you look at the outside it almost lookes like a Autoart the seem workmanships only a lot cheaper. The doors okay, they could change that but they close very tight also, the hood and the back. The weapons are nicely hidden only a shame that the chair doesn't come out of the car. This is a car for every collection. 6. Daron & Sharon Woodward 2/3/03
Do not misunderstand us, we LOVE this car and were very happy to wait the four weeks(!) that it took for our dealer to track it down for us. As described by Mr. Perrone the detail IS superb but to say that it is above AUTOart is, we feel, a bit of a stretch. The most obvious down-side is the metallic paint with a particle size that seems almost out of scale from the rest of the car, on a 1:1 you just wouldn't see it but in 1:18 it is obviuos. That said, it's not really Beanstalk's fault. I hope that seems balanced. As a collectable, this one is tops and a real MUST-BUY. Astons always look great and this one just screams MEAN MACHINE. At the price they ask for it...if you see one, get it! Miss it at your peril. 7. Albert Davis 2/18/03
After seeing "Die Another Day," I decided to try and order this car. I couldn't order it myself because I was almost out of pocket money and couldn't afford to lose it, so I recieved it as a late Hannukah present from my aunt. It was worth the wait, and I love it. My only gripe is that the missiles are sloppily painted. Still, BUY IT! 8. David Robert de Leon 11/21/02
Value and quality for your money. At a very reasonable price you get a quality diecast that you will enjoy and appreciate again and again. The gadgets that are typical of a Bond car makes this Vanquish interesting and a must have for Bond fans. No detail is spared. The "red fire extinguisher" (Yes, have another peek if you missed it!) at the back trunk makes it come to life . Bond has finally met his match!
