1. Tyler Gee 9/21/05
The model is as good as any other Lane issue which means great fit and finish with a rare and unique color as well.
Gripes fall into three areas.
(1) The seat belts resisted being glued to the seats so some of them are floating in space pointing up because of the stiff fabric on the belt buckle while leaving a glue spot on the seat cover to remind you where it was supposed to be.
(2) The wheels and tires are way too large. If this was the real 1:1 the tires would take out the chrome wheel well trim on the first turn. Seriously, on the actual car the top of the front tire could be seen when looking at it from the side and they did not fill the wheel opening nearly as much as this model shows.
(3) My model doesn't match the pictures posted here. The model I have here has an interior console and a shifter for an automatic tranny. There is no cluth pedal and the brake pedal is correct for an automatic. The transmission casting is also correct for an automatic. The steering wheel on my model is also the correct thin black rim wheel for the car and not the fat wood grain wheel shown in the pictures.
Overall I am still very happy with the model and except for the oversized tires this is an accurate depiction of the actual car. I have a large collection of models and only have room to display a few at a time. This one gets out of the box a lot more than others.
