A classic late '40's and '50's icon, this model represents the countless post-war garage-built hot rods that raced on the dry lake beds of Southern California in the morning then cruised the drive-ins at night. Here are comments from our photographer Mike Martin. "Now this is more like it. Hard to know where to start with the compliments for this new release of Danbury Mint's 1932 Ford Deuce Highboy It is really two cars in one. It can be shown as a stunning lake bed racing rod sans windshield, headlights, top accompanied with disk hub caps and special canvas racing shell. The other configuration is that of a legal street rod as shown in the center view of the attached image. Detail is superb from the engine compartment with all attendant wiring and gas lines to dash instrumentation having excellent relief quality. But wait! There's more. Turn this model over and take note of all the underbody chrome work. This Deuce looks good upside down or rightside up." The issue price is $112. (07/23/2000) (09/15/2000) |
