Oh boy, where to begin! This model is consistent with Danbury’s reputation for quality and attention to detail. While I know owning a Zamboni (named for its inventor) is probably not everyone’s dream, this is still an extraordinary looking model. The paint and decals are beautifully applied. Opening the dump tank and side panels reveal the wonderfully detailed engine and drive train. Also revealed is the mass of hydraulic lines required to operate this ice resurfacing wonder. The intricacies of this model are amazing. Indeed, the only thing missing is the ice! If you are a hockey fan or looking for a gift for one, this is a must! And even if you’re not a fan, just looking at the mechanics of this jewel will increase your pulse. Dimensions are 7” long by 3.75” high by 3.5 wide and scale is 1:24. While it is available in other team colors, I’m not sure why anyone would want anything other than the Detroit Red Wings version! Five full stars! Price is $145 plus $7.50 shipping. (11/21/2001) |
