This is an update on and a flattering compliment to the '31 Ford Model A roadster tooling. This new model (issue 10/02) simply cannot be fully appreciated in photographs, it must be seen in person. Instantly striking is the paint. Yes, it is typical Danbury-perfect but it is their choice of color that makes the model so rich. The top is a deep, dark Kewanee Green. The body, still timeless in design after 70 years, is a lighter Elkpoint Green with very slight olive overtones. The lighter shade is also found framing all of the windows and windshield. The fenders are jet black while the roof insert treats your senses to a soft black textured feel. Look a little closer and you find a nearly 1:24th scale pinstripe in a shade of lighter apple green that highlights the top and bottom of the main body.

There are some subtle differences between the coupe and the roadster, most of which I would consider upgrades. Immediately outstanding are the wire wheels. Delicate and razor thin, they are beautiful and realistic at the same time. Their black anodized finish perfectly accents the other color choices of the diecast. The radiator cap is correct for the coupe with minute graphics front and rear. The engine bay now displays fuel lines and wiring and instead of a separate outboard trunk, the Model A Coupe sports an operable luggage rack. The interior is still covered in leather and so is the working rumble seat, although the color is now a more elegant tan with less of the orange tint that the roadster has. The center hood hinge is now painted body color and presents a more finished appearance.

I really like this model, Danbury, ya done good! 5 stars! The issue price is $112 + S&H.
