Things go better with Coke. So do diecasts, especially if you like detail with your soft drink. This is the same model as the previously issued light blue Pro Modified, except with the Coca Cola graphics. Although the first iteration was show car gorgeous, sans racing livery, this adaptation looks more like what you would expect to find at today’s quarter mile strip.

Danbury has built a good number of drag race and street rod cars in their “Rods & Customs” series and this one fits in classically. Speaking of fit, how did DM get that 502 cubic inch Bow-Tie bad boy into the stock ’63 car? This bruiser is making some serious ponies and the detail is so real you can almost hear it scream. The hood is held in place with two tiny but powerful magnets located on the lower rear of the hood and the front edge comes to rest on a magnetic plate just ahead of the radiator. Carefully take it off to see the whole show, up close and personal. The blower linkage, springs and braided hoses still blow me away. The red anodized air scoop butterflies and rubber blower belt is simply awesome.

Inside there is so much to see and appreciate that it may take several sessions with the replica to gather it all in. The floor pan and door panels are aluminum. There is a door lever knob and fabric door pull mounted appropriately. The gauges are realistic and the twin battery hook-up is genuinely incredible. Out back we see a working fuel filler and twin chutes to whoa this Coke machine. They’re mounted right above the wheelie bar, complete with dual spring assembly. The paint on this beauty really stands out and the graphics are done so typically well for a Danbury treasure. If you’re into Corvette collectibles or Coke memorabilia, this little hummer is right up your alley. 5 thirst-quenching stars.
