The 1935 Ford Pickup is arguably the prettiest pickup Ford ever made.  With its graceful fender lines and raked grille, the truck has a sleek look despite the tall cab.  Its looks almost make you forget that this is a no-frills, Spartan pickup truck.

DM is the pickup champ.  Having only started making pickup models a couple of years ago, they nevertheless do them up right.  The '35 Ford is no exception.  They chose ultra-dark Dearborn Blue with black fenders as the color combo, accented with Poppy Red pin-striping and wire wheels.  Whitewall tires complete what is a very nice looking package indeed.  The detailing is up there too, with plenty of fine detail and a nicely done undercarriage.  My only quibbles are a lack of engine wiring and a slightly out-of-scale shift lever.

If you're a fan of pickup truck models, this Ford model is a prime example of the working iron Detroit put out in the '30s.  To my way of thinking, pickup trucks of the '40s and '50s lost the grace of their predecessors.  Sure, they may have been capable of handling bigger and heavier loads, but they sacrificed a lot of class. The issue price is $118 + S&H. (08/07/1998)
