Danbury Mint 1:24 1950 Mercury Custom Convertible- Rod & Custom Series (Discontinued) diecast car

THIS MODEL WAS DISCONTINUED 6/30/02. This 1/24 DM masterpiece is everyone's dream: the car that's synonymous with the phrase "lead sled". This '50 Merc has received a 4" windshield chop, lowered suspension (another 4"), shaved and decked hood and trunk, an outrageous 2 tone paint job (would you believe...eggplant purple over lavendar metallic!), a removable carson top, tunneled dual antennae, frenched headlights and tailights (borrowed from a '51 Lincoln that didn't need them anymore!), trimmed in white leather (a DM trademark) with purple piping...very, very jazzy. Finally the piece de resistance: fuzzy dice, lazily hanging from the rearview mirror.

The menacing look of the vintage 50's DeSoto grille as well as the obligatory Caddy full size "platters" (that's wheel covers to the rest of us) set this new release as a real "BLAST FROM THE PAST." It's a bargain at $114.80. This Merc makes anyone else's previous rods look like Tinker Toys by comparison. (07/30/1998)
