This is the
legendary road
racer that tended
to eat Ferraris for
breakfast; the first
American (albeit
Ford Europe
produced) road
racer to effectively divert the accolades of victory at LeMans,
Nuremberg, Monte Carlo, et al in the late 60’s. This a model is
a replica of the winning car at LeMans and is thought by many
to be the premiere replication of this prototype extant!!!. It's all
there...from seat belts to knockoffs, to completely wired engine
compartment, to the stark no nonsense interior, right down to
the last decal and monogram. Finished in Sky Blue with Orange
stripe, this low slung beauty, could pass for a streetable "sports
car"...in fact a few were even configured as such. They didn't
sell all that well though...the price tag was over $250,000
US...in 1966!!! This car is generally not available except on the
secondary market.
