The 1967 Ferrari 330 P4, was Ferrari at its finest race-bred glory. Its sophistication was not to be eclipsed until the production of the F-40 and F-50 . The V-12, with 4 overhead camshafts, fuel injection and 3 valves per cylinder easily pumped out 450 hp at 8,200 screaming rpm. The 275/330 P, 275/330 P2 and the 330 P3 all had a share of racing success,
but in the first event of the 1967 season at the Daytona 24 Hours, Ferrari tasted its sweetest victory over rival Ford. At the close in a carefully orchestrated finale, two 330 P4's and one P3 modified with the P4 upgrades, crossed the finish line side by side.
The Jouef Evolution, now continued, is a model maker's masterpiece. True to every archive photo I can find on the real thing, each nuance is captured from the delicately wired 12-cylinder engine, plumbed to perfection, to the metal air ducting used for cooling the brakes. The model boasts fabric seatbelts, and the use of infinitely small wire for the wiper as exact as the 1:1 car itself. Peering through the air exhaust in the frontals ection of the car, you can see the use of metal work for the radiator system, magnificently done. Interior work, fit and finish are expertly carried out and the paint adds the crowning sparkle to a beautifully completed replica. There is very little use of non-metal material in this car. Absolutely no Ferrari collection is complete without the 330P4.
This is the counterpart to the Jouef Evolution 1964 Ferrari 250 GTO Coupe. Both diecasts were made by Jouef for Revell's Creative Masters German Division. Both in 1:24th. scale.
