Here is a little truck that right out of the box will steal your heart. Detail on this model is truly exciting as you note to what extent DM has gone to create exact detail. The Dodge Red and Black color is perfect for this body style and the paint is smooth almost to the point of looking "wet". Balance and proportions are correct and the fit of the doors, hood and other moving parts are tight and withstand close scrutiny. Door hinges are flawless in style and size ratio. The front windshield on this model opens out as did the original truck. (A word of caution. Opening the window on the model reviewed caused one wiper blade to disconnect. Be happy knowing the window opens without frequent testing). Downward pressure on the top of the truck reveals that DM has included a realistic suspension. If you want to put your eyes to a real test, try reading the fine writing on the carburetor air filter label or the word "Dodge" inscribed on the jeweled tail light. It's all there. The driver’s side view mirror is hinged and adjustable and if you raise the front seat, you can sneak a look at the jack and associated tire changing equipment stored there. The moon hubcaps with the embossed Dodge name in black letters is clean and in crisp detail. The same is true for the ram hood mascot. This puppy has it all. Danbury will add luster to its name with this release. The issue price is $118 + S&H. (06/26/1998) (06/26/1998) |
