The Danbury Mint keeps producing these little classics. This
’31 Ford panel delivery truck is a perky looking model with
lots of detail to keep your interest going. The bright canary yellow body with black hood and fenders and fabric roof covering would stand out immediately in any collection.
24 miniature cases of Coca-Cola are carried in back on sturdy racks. (Classic Coke to go with a classic Ford?) DM has provided a special set of tweezers to bring them out for
observation. Wheel spokes have been finished in matching yellow with red brake drums. Under the seat you can find tire changing equipment and other miscellaneous tools including pliers, screwdriver, wrenches and air pump. Some details on this model were not quite up to the standards we have come to expect from Danbury. The door hinges appeared a little awkward and unfinished and the side doors did not fit tightly.
Even with some of these slight distractions, this is a fun model and catches the feeling of the original truck. The issue price is $145 + $7.50 S&H. (06/26/1998)
