Danbury Mint 1:24 1964 Aston Martin DB5 Saloon - James Bond, 007 Version (Discontinued) diecast car

DISCONTINUED 12/31/01. BOND’S THE NAME...JAMES BOND. Continuing its trend of variations on a theme,DM as issued a new version of its well-reviewed 1:24 ’64 Aston Martin DB5. This is the 007 DB5 featured in Goldfinger and Thunderball.

We won’t repeat our comments on all the nice features of the original DM (such as the working antenna and visors) but will concentrate on the gadgets added to this Gunmetal Gray vehicle: Rotating license plates, ejection passenger seat and sunroof, pull-out rams, slide-out tire slasher, spring-operated rear bullet shield, opening tail lights for the oil dispersal system, a radar system and mobile phone, etc. Not to worry, the guns don’t shoot and oil doesn’t spray out. But this is a nifty answer to everyone who asked why DM didn’t do the 007 version in the first place. The issue price is $149 + S&H. (06/25/1998)
