DM's rendition of the '36 Ford Model 468 Cabriolet is finished in Washington Blue with medium tan leather interior. The model upholds all of DM's known penchant for producing excellent, highly accurate, and carefully constructed replicas! Everything works as it should, and fits snugly. The engine is fully wired and plumbed and, as advertised, the fan does spin, though I suspect the feature was added much for grin value as for minute accuracy. The Creme pin striping is accurate and cleanly applied. The piece de resistance, for this reviewer, at least, is the addition of the full chrome wheel spider inserts...they really make this model "pop."

There is one nit I found...and it took me a while to really figure it out. The problem is that the top (beautifully crafted with a light beige cloth and brown piping, BTW) sits too tall on the body and should be physically lower in height. Its placement on the model makes the car appear somewhat "toy like" The solution is merely to display it with the top down.

This jaunty little Ford is very well done and on a par with the FM rendition in most areas; it's also superior in others. It's a "must have" if you're a Fordophile and a look-see to others. In the meantime, it rates a solid 4-Stars in my book, and that ain't all bad!! The issue price is $112 + S&H. (12/26/97)
