Danbury Mint 1:24 1955 Ford Fairlane Crown Victoria Custom- Rod & Custom Series diecast car

The 55 Custom Crown Vic, number four in the DM "Rods & Customs" series just arrived. Fifties era custom fans will love this replica. The metallic turquoise with white roof and 56 Mercury saddle trim is gorgeous and is a nice change. The car has an "in the weeds" stance and is loaded with all the custom tricks. Modifications include a 55 DeSoto grille with the 55 Crown Vic bumper turned upside down, nosed and louvered hood accented with pinstriping, twin dummy teardrop spots, decked trunk also striped, rolled rear pan, mild custom taillights, cruiser skirts, lake pipes and rolling on wide whites with Dodge Lancer style hubcaps. The crowning touch however is the suicide doors.

The interior is white with bucket seats (seat backs don't tilt) and a console. The shifter remains on the steering column. Neat extra touches include a pine tree air freshener hanging from the rear view mirror, a pair of sunglasses resting on the console and a Pharaoh's Club Plaque on the rear of the car. Under the hood is the Ford V8 with tons of chrome and three deuces. I was shocked however to note that Danbury had omitted the ignition wires. Fit and finish are equal to what we have come to expect from Danbury and the car looks terrific sitting next to the Custom Nomad. I would rate this as a four star model. I can't wait for the Hot Rod '36 Ford. The issue price is $109 + $5.80 S&H. (4/12/98)
