Before you open the box either dim the lights or put on your shades. My first impression was, whoa is this baby ever bright. The more you look at it the brighter and better it gets. If you thought the custom '55 Nomad was detailed wait until you get a gander of this truck!

This is one radical pickup: Chopped, Shaved, Rolled Pans, Tilt Front, Suicide Doors and Custom Bed with integral cover/tailgate, Big and Littles and in the weeds stance. The pearl yellow paint with pearl white scallops is flawless. I could go on and on but there are too many details to mention in a short review. The real "coupe de grace" is under the tilt front end. This baby is powered by the Nascar-outlawed 427 cu in 600 hp Cammer engine and loaded with detail. It has all the plumbing including braided heater hoses, fuel lines running to the dual quad carbs, brake line from the master cylinder and the ingnition wires even have black spark plug boots. There is even wiring to the headlights. The hinges for both the front end and bed cover are reminicent of those on the Nomad. If you love Rod's and Customs of any kind, this truck is a must have. I rate it five for five. The only complaint I have (I never thought I would say this) is that the doors are too tight. They are spring loaded and difficult to open. Oh yes, the interior is custom as well, but thus far, I'm having a hard time getting past looking under the hood. This truck is fun.

DM has announced three more in the series, the next will be the 53 Chevy, with small block V8 and a flamed paint job. I can hardly wait because the more I look at this one, the more I am amazed at the attention to detail. The issue price is $124 + S&H. (11/09/1998)
