Whether this latest in DM's now extensive range of commercial vehicles is the first in a series or a Budweiser exclusive remains to be seen; but if vintage trucks appeal to you at all, you can't go wrong with this sturdy stunner. The handsome '37 Chevy pickup cab/front end mounts to a new 157" wheelbase chassis, fitted with heavy-duty wheels. As on the pickup, cab doors and hood panels articulate on near-scale outside hinges and fit impeccably - but require gentle pressure to get them to snap shut. Aft of the cargo box is a chain-supported tailgate and fabric roll-down tarp. The replica's livery is period-correct, and (almost needless to say) its finish is rich, smooth and glossy.

It's fun discovering how DM has differentiated certain features of this truck compared with the pickup. The front bumper and brackets are similar but completely different pieces that mount slightly lower; the horn has been moved from the intake manifold to one of the radiator support rods; and the outside r/v mirror is on a longer stalk. Little things - but it's called sweating the details. Forty wood "Bud Draft" barrels add further value to this superb replica. I rate it fully five stars - and a yardstick by which all similar models may be judged.

The issue price is $149 plus $8 S&H.
