Another '41 Chevy Panel Van has joined the Danbury line in Morton Salt livery. Previous iterations are Coke, Campbell's and Heinz.
Developed from the '41 Chevy Pickup issued in '96, the Panel has refinements that bring it right up to latest replication standards. The hood side panel trim is more refined; the engine compartment now sports wiring; and the cab door hinges have been reduced in size and more accurately spaced. Inside the cab, bucket seats hinge forward to reveal a removable hatch covering a jack and tools.
I love the '41-46 Chevy grill treatment and, as with the pickup, is finely replicated in all its chrome glory. Grills have become a strong suit for Danbury; especially the intricate 30's and 40's patterns. For a fleet vehicle, this is extravagantly equipped with sun visor, spotlight, fog lights and whitewalls. The final touch is a complement of 24 miniature cases of product, which can be stacked next to the model, or stored behind the double rear loading doors.
Most importantly, the model looks "just right"; though I suspect that body and ride height been reduced just a bit for proper scale effect. This one is highly recommended for commercial vehicle fans or vintage Chevy lovers, and I give it five stars 'cause they just don't get any better than this! The issue price is $120 + $8 S&H.
