If you are a "Truck Aficionado" this piece deserves a closer look. Faithfully replicated from Chevy's full size Suburban, it lives up to Danbury's standard of excellence in both fit and finish. The dark green (called Brewster) paint is flawless. The side windows slide open and closed - a nice touch. As with the original, the small block "wired" engine looks lost in the cavernous engine compartment. There are two items of concern: the removable seats do not fit as well as I would like (but Danbury does supply a tool for their insertion and removal), and the hinges on the rear window are delicate and do benefit from some lubrication. To those expecting a lot of frills - stay clear of this model. The original didn't have them so neither does the model. But if you have fond memories of when trucks were trucks (instead of luxury items with luxury prices), you will like this one. I rate it four and a half out of five stars. The issue price is $135 + S&H. (03/29/2002) |
