This is AUTOart's 1/43 Aston Martin DB7 Vantage in metallic blue. It's a well scaled, nicely finished model that captures the look and stance of that ridiculously expensive British supercar. The paint is virtually perfect with a metallic look that at this scale doesn't look like silver snowflakes. It was applied glassy smooth without any pooling in the minute recesses that would obscure the delicate panel lines. The glazing is distortion free and optically clear allowing a virtually unobstructed view of the tutone interior that features simulated burlwood trim and legible gauges. The unusual 10-spoke wheels expose drilled out discs and calipers. The undercarriage is also fairly well modeled and the front wheels are posable which provides a nice little display option not normally offered in this scale. This is the first 1/43 AUTOart model that I've had the pleasure to own and admire. AUTOart is known for its consistant build quality and scaled accuracy. I find it quite a nice piece at a reasonable pricepoint. (03/30/2007) |
