A new model from AutoArt is #55961, a Mazda CX-9. This a larger crossover SUV that features three-row seating and more power than found in Mazda’s CX-7. This is not a stretch version of the CX-7 but a whole new vehicle. It features an all-new 3.5-liter V-6 that produces 263 horsepower and 249 pound-feet of torque running on unleaded fuel. The engine is driven through a six-speed automatic. Front-wheel drive is standard and All-wheel drive is available. Wheelbase is 113.2” with an overall length of 199.6”. Prices start at $29,500 and go up to $39,500 for the AWD Grand Sport version. The 1:43 scale model is finished in a deep shade, called Stormy Blue. It is spot-on, feature for feature, and dimension to dimension to the real thing. A picture of the 1:1 CX-9 is included for your comparison. The interior of the model is as detailed as is the exterior with, apparently, nothing left out. The clear glass front windows and sunroof give a good view of the interior. An extra feature is the turning front wheels. Even the chassis is well detailed, including the single exhaust pipe that splits into two outlets through resonators and chrome-tip exhaust outlets. Modern cars are not my collecting field but, if it were I would certainly want this one, it is outstanding. (08/27/2007) |
