Toyota took the world by storm in 1989 when it introduced the LS400 sedan to a skeptical public; by the Fall of 1990, the LS400 raised the bar on luxury defined! The Japanese luxury car had landed and it was taking no prisoners.
In 1998, the '99 RX300 sport ute/car entered the fray as a direct competitor to the Mercedes ML320. Auto Art has now replicated this ingeneous not-so-small AWD sport ute...and, like LEXUS, itself, they have raised the bar 5-6 feet on the level of detail possible in a scale model car. Detail level
is Mint quality, as is fit & finish, and QC seems superb. I lined up 12 of these models (I got mine at the LEXUS DEALER PARTS DEPT. They have an exclusive on the AUTUMN HAZE PEARL paintwork...o/c cars are either Silver or Black) and there wasn't one iota of difference among them. Dials are legible, the interior is definitely top drawer, and the 4 operating doors work without a hitch. The suspension is fully operable, but stiff, rather than bouncy (as a Maisto model usually is). The tires and semi-gloss aluminum wheels are perfect and the engine compartment is a true work of art...right down to the warning tags at the radiatory and fan.
This a model that LEXUS is quite proud of; it's right up to their standards....and mine as well! 5 STARS.....easy.
