I just picked up the Subaru 22B from AutoArt. Overall, I'm quite happy with it. The paint is excellent and the detail exquisite. The gold wheels are very detailed, with red Subaru calipers. The interior is excellent as it has a headliner, color contoured seats, detailed dash and center console and carpet. The rear windows are tinted and have the defrost wires. It's got the bigger wing and has right hand drive. The engine detail is beyond excellent. It's the most detailed engine that I have currently, easily surpassing the Rally versions released last year. I do have three qualms. First, I swore to myself I would never buy a non-convertible without door windows. I really, really hate that and was extremely disappointed to find that the 22B doesn't have them. Since then, after continuing to struggle at getting the doors open on a couple of my other cars (the UT 911 GT2 and UT BMW GTR to name a couple), I realize that maybe it's not so bad after all. I would prefer that it had windows, but I don't hate it enough to return the car. Second, the rear wiper interferes with opening the trunk-likely a misplacement specific to my model. No biggie. Third, the price. While it's an excellent piece, I find it hard to justify paying 4x what I paid (C$80) for a Bburago F50 convertible (C$20) on the same day. The F50 is not nearly as nice, but there are severely diminishing returns with every dollar spent. Oh and one more, I wish there was a rod to keep the hood open. It's so well done in there that it really should be displayed. So if you must have the 22B (like me), and can conjure up enough humility to spend what I believe is a lot for a model car, then I think that you will be happy with the 22B from AutoArt.
