AUTO art rally models are incredibly detailed and vividly colored. Just like the real thing, there always seem to be a jillion details in a band box of a car.
I can't help liking these jewels. While WRC broadcasts are harder to find than a Senator that can behave in the men's bathroom, they can be rewarding fun as the cars bump, jump, slide and grind over tarmac, ice and dirt. In this world, the Subaru blue of Peter Solberg is more feared than an undercover officer in the U.S. Capitol restroom. (Okay, enough).
While the crisp tampo graphics against the blue background would be worth the price of admission, AUTO art adds details from a fully articualted rollcage, emergency equipment like fire extinguishers (one for driver, one for co-driver and an entire arsenal of aerials. The trademark gold honeycomb wheels are surrounded by soft Pirelli P Zero tires. Shutlines are tighter than my depression-era born grandfather was with a quarter.
I can see climbing in this pocket rocket and heading out for a wild afternoon of twists and turns. On second thought, I think I'll just put it in my display case, sit back witha beer and admire this model of a blissfully chunky mighty mite brute. Probably safer that way.
