  AutoArt 1:18 1998 Dodge Viper GTS-R #51- T. Archer/O.Beretta/P. Lamy- LeMans GT2 Class Runner Up diecast car

AUTOart scores exceptionally high marks on the Viper series and has earned a vote of thanks from those collectors that demand accuracy. It would be easier to fabricate one body and tack on certain features to depict the various forms of the Viper GTS-R. Instead they replicate each one on its own merits. Hood louvers vary. Window treatments, fender scoops, light placements and internal ducting, all differ from model to model. (03/20/2000)

Low, lean and mean, the stance of the #51 car commands your attention. As you draw near to inspect it however, the quality of this diecast becomes evident. You will first notice the perfect application of the paint, the racing graphics and seamless flow of its lines. Tolerances are exceptionally tight for doors and hood. All align perfectly. In fact you may exchange the hood from another AUTOart Viper GTS-R and it will fit like it was hand-made for that actual model! The hood vents are real, cut all the way through. The yellow-tinted light covers blend harmoniously into the 'splash' paint scheme. Remove the hood to fully appreciate the detail AUTOart builds into this diecast. Look at the air ducts, including those to the brakes. The separately molded wiper lends more detail but take a peek into the business office of the interior. Workman-like in detail, even the seat is dual-colored to perfectly mimic the lightweight race seat of these GT 2 class monsters. If you like the Viper and especially the racing livery GTS, you simply won't find a better 1/18th scale diecast than this AUTOart. (03/07/2000)
